920-meter Long Tunnel will be built in Rudraprayag
BRO has been instructed to prepare DPR. This tunnel connecting both highways will be the longest tunnel in Uttarakhand. Under the Char Dham Vikas Project, a tunnel will be constructed near Jawadi Bypass Bridge built in Jagatoli (ahead of the PWD office) in Rudraprayag, which will reach some distance from the Belni population area on the Rudraprayag-Chopta-Pokhri motorway on the other end. This bridge will be connected to Badrinath National Highway on the Alaknanda River. By the formation of this tunnel, connecting the two highways will get rid of the jam in the main market.
According to Commanding Officer BRO-66
Nagendra Kumar, Commanding Officer, BRO-66 RCC Gaucher said that after getting the theoretical approval of construction of the 920-meter tunnel from the Government of India, action has been initiated for preparing final DPR. Within one month the DPR will be prepared and sent to the Government of India. They have claimed that it will be the longest tunnel on the highway in Uttarakhand.
The project proposal was sent 10 years ago

After deep study and expert opinion, the center was sanctioned for the survey of the tunnel in the year 2011-12. After completing several formalities, a survey was carried out in the year 2015-16.
