Located in the high Himalayas, the holy shrine of Tungnath (tritya kedar) is open for public on Wednesday. For the next six months, Lord Tungnath will be worshiped here only.
On Wednesday morning, locals offered prayers at Markandey temple at Mukkumath near Chopta. At 8 am morning the holy DOLI of God Tungnath starts its journey from Chopta and reached at Tungnath temple at 10:30 am. At 10:50 am the shrine open with chanting. After then the idol of Panch Kedar, Parvati and Bhutnath are praised with God Tungnath. In Tungnath temple, the shoulders and heart of Lord Shiva are praised.
