Now Trip Card along with Green Card is mandatory for Chardham Yatra vehicles

Small and big commercial and private vehicle going on Chardham Yatra will have to make a trip/ green card. Before going on the Chardham Yatra, the details of the driver and passengers have to be given, the whole process will be online. This step has been taken by the Transport Department to stop the scandal of vehicles from other states during the journey. There will also be a record of passengers in the trip card.

Commercial vehicles going for Chardham Yatra and Hemkund Sahib Yatra will have to take an online Green & Trip card. Private vehicles need to have Trip card only. Govt has decided to make Trip Card compulsory for Char Dham Yatra. During the journey, the facility of making green card and trip card will also be available through online this time.

According to the estimation of the Transport Department, every year more than 20 Lakh pilgrims travel to Chardham by commercial and private vehicles such as buses, cars, taxis, maxi cabs etc. . A large number of vehicles from other states also come on the All India Permit for Chardham Yatra. Mostly these vehicles take passengers from Haridwar on Chardham Yatra. Local transport businessmen oppose these unchecked vehicles on Chardham Yatra route.

To solve the problem, the Transport Department is going to make a trip card along with a green card. Trip card will be required for vehicles from outlying provinces as well as state vehicles. There will be online application facility for Trip Card & Green Card. This facility will start before the journey begins.

Trip card will be made online with green card. This will tell which vehicle has gone for Chardham Yatra. and how many passengers are travelling on the vehicle. Their names and mobile numbers will also be known online. The trip card will put a check on vehicles from other states.
