Till 1990, PM Modi had visited Kedarnath Dham each year during the yatra season. A 78 years old Tirthpurohit Shriniwas Posti told that at 2 kms from Kedarnath Temple, Garud chatti was the place where Modi stayed every time on his visit. He used to visit Kedarnath Dham daily from Garudchatti for meditation.
PM Modi has deep faith in Baba Kedar. During the 2013 calamity, Modi took a flying survey of Kedarpuri after state government didn’t permit him to visit Kedarnath due to security reasons. Modi had also send huge amount of relief items from Gujarat.
PM Modi visit to Kedarnath Temple
On 03rd May Prime Minister Modi will attend the opening ceremony of Kedarnath Temple. This is the first time any PM attend kapat opening ceremony of Kedarnath Dham. Although he will be the third PM of the country to visit Kedarnath after Indira Gandhi in 1980 and VP Singh in 1989.
