Two sages have been fasting for the last five days at their respective ashram on the demand of Darshan of Badrinath Dham. On Thursday, SDM Joshimath Kumkum Joshi held talks with the sadhus along with the team of doctors, but the monks remained adamant on the demand to have food only after the darshan of Lord Badrinath. The SDM said that the sadhus were tested for health and their blood sugar and blood pressure were normal.
About 15 monks and saints along with Mauni Baba and Bhagwata Das, who had been staying in the Badrinath Dham for many years, had reached the shrine after the opening of the Badrinath Temple, but due to the Corona Guidelines, no one was allowed to visit Badrinath Dham. Moni Baba says that he has been living in Badrinath Dham for the last 30 years. While following the Guru tradition, they take food only after having seen Lord Badrinath for six months, but this time the Badrinath Dham darshan is not allowed.
Devasthanam Board officials were requested to visit Badrinath ji from far away, but sadhus and saints are not being heard, due to which, from May 23, Mauni Baba and Bhagwata Das start fasting in their ashram.
On Thursday, SDM Kumkum Joshi held talks with the sadhus, but they remained adamant on demanding Badrinath darshan. SDM Kumkum Joshi said that the sadhus were subjected to health tests by doctors and all are healthy.
