President Mukherjee not able to pay obeisance at the Kedarnath Dham due to bad weather conditions. He had to return to New Delhi today.
As the weather in Kedarnath did not let his helicopter land on Kedarnath helipad despite repeated attempts, President had to return to Dehradun at last.
Earlier on the day, President reached Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun at 08:30 am. Soon he left for Kedarnath on MI 17 helicopter. MI 17 could not able to land at Kedarnath due to bad weather and had to return from Lincholi. Then helicopter was taken to Gauchar and waited for weather clearance. As the weather didnot improve, the MI 17 made two more attempts, but failed to land. Then the helicopter return to Raj Bhawan Dehradun.
