Need some help here pls. I am a solo traveller and wish to visit Gangotri Glacier (understand there are different iterations, but want to see the source from as far as possible) without much risk. I am not a trekker either, but influenced by the beauty of the place. I have been trying to look for information, with mixed responses recd. Well, i went ahead a step and booked my UTC travel from Delhi to Uttarakashi for 29th April 2022 and my online permit approved for Gaumukh trek for 1st May 2022. Is this safe? would there be enough of resources available for food and accomodation? Can somebody pls guide me. I am ok if need to hire a porter either, two would be better than 1. Pls suggest

I am planning a trek with my Wife from Gangotri to Gaumukh on 9th November 2019. Since the online permit service in not available. I wish to know if I’ll be able to get the permit from Gangotri in November. Are there any specific dates when the permits are issued?

Yes, online service is not available, however you can get permit offline from Uttarkashi or Gangotri.
We are 6 persons want to trek in Gaumukh In oct 03rd 2019, how to get online permit ,ONLINE PERMIT link ” Pathik” is not serviceable at this time, So what can I do?

I would like to trek from gangotri to Gaumukh and Tapovan with a porter any suggestions and can I get permit to trek alone without a tour operator
You can trek on your own without operator upto Gaumukh but not upto Tapovan. While applying for online permit for Gomukh, you can leave the operator column blank because it is optional.
I believe if one has to go upto Gaumukh only, tour operator is not required. It is optional and not mandatory.

I have applied online for permit for Gomukh for 02 Oct and 03 Oct. Permit has been issued but the payment of fee option is not available due to technical reasons.
Do, I have to go to the single window at Uttarkashi for payment and obtaining permission letter or this can be done at Gangotri as well.
My plan is to book online bus ticket from Haridwar to Gangotri directly because online ticket facility is not available for Haridwar to Uttarkashi and then Uttarkashi to Gangotri.

How to get the gomukh trek permission online.
I have registered for gomukh trek online and paid the fee for it. How to get permit as site say it will be issued in 3 days. How to know the application status.

I have registered for gomukh trek online and paid the fee for it. Now I have application form and the payment slip. Is it enough for trekking or I have to go to DFO uttarkashi for permit?? And if I have to visit DFO uttarkashi will it be openned on Dashahra i.e. 30-9-17???
You have the permission by apply online and payment of fee.
You meant those two documents the application form and fee receipt are enough for gomukh trek and i don’t need to visit DFO uttarkashi.
And what I need to do if I hire a porter? I will be reaching there on dushahara i.e. 30-09-17. Will DFO office be opened that day?
