With the opening of Gangotri – Yamunotri Dhams on 03 May, the Chardham Yatra will start for 2022. Kedarnath Dham will open on 06 May and Badrinath on 08 May 2022. Till now, over 2 Lakh pilgrims have done registrations and 90% of hotels & dharamshalas are full till June month. For the service of pilgrims, Traffic police will be available at 133 places on Chardham Yatra route.
New Preparations for Chardham Yatra 2022
Toll Free Number
For the pilgrims facility and service, tourism department have launch a toll free number 1364. Other contact numbers are 0135-1364 (For other states), 0135-2559898, 0135-2552627 and 0315-3520100. Pilgrims can take help for booking related queries and other complaints on these contact numbers.
QR Code
A QR code will be given to all pilgrims in a wrist band on registration for Chardham Yatra. With the QR code, it can be known that pilgrims has taken darshan or not, pilgrims and its vehicle can be tracked down with QR code.
Green Card
Pilgrims visiting Chardham Yatra from other states do not have to visit transport office. All borders will have check posts where pilgrims can make Green Card for the yatra. Vehicles which have green card sticker will not be stopped or checked by Police or transport department.
Drone & Cameras
Cameras are being installed at more than 30 locations on Chardham Yatra route. It will help to trace and watch movements of pilgrims. Drone pilots will be deployed to help traffic management, accidents.
Police Mitra
During Chardham Yatra Police will welcome pilgrims with the expression of ‘Atithi Devo Bhavah’. Special training has been given to Inspectors and Constables for good behaviour and administration of travel.
