If everything goes according to the plan, then soon major milestones of Kedarnath – Sonprayag and Gaurikund will be linked with flyover. The District Disaster Management Authority prepared estimate of two hundred and fifty crore and sent to the Centre, which has received the approval.
In 2013 calamity the six kilometers long route from Sonprayag to Gaurikund was bore the brunt of nature and was completely destroyed. Two years after the disaster, the route could be opened only for light vehicles. To deal with such situations in the future, plans of linking these two major stages is under process. The bridge to be constructed above Mandakini river will reduce the distance between two by a kilometer.’
Rudpryag Dr. Raghav Langar said plans of developement from Sitapur to Kedarnath are there. Under the plan, multi-storeyed parking lot will be constructed. The upper floor of the parking will be supported with helipad.
The helipad will prove to be helpful in emergency situations considerably. He said alog with this varous other works will be done including shopping complex. For this, an amount of Rs 267 crore has been approved.
