Chardham Yatra 2020 not started yet, but Puja Paath in the name of devotees are being held continuously in Badrinath & Kedarnath. This has been done through online booking of Puja Paath at Badrinath & Kedarnath Dhams. Pilgrims in large numbers are using online Puja Paath facility at Badrinath & Kedarnath Temple.
So far more than 600 & 200 devotees have performed online pujas including Abhishek and Mahabhisheka in their name at Badrinath & Kedarnath Dham respectively. Among the devotees, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat also performed mahabhishek pujas at Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham to liberate the state and the country from the corona epidemic.
The first puja in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi took place on the occasion of opening of the kapat on 15 May in Badrinath Dham. Since then, 600 devotees have performed special online pujas at Dham till June 7. These earned more than ten lakh rupees to Badrinath Dham. Dharmadhikari of Badrinath Temple, Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal told that the priests, Vedapathi and he himself are performing the pujas with the names and gotras of the devotees.
However, due to the Corona epidemic, offerings are not being sent to pilgrims right now. These days more than 5 pujas are being booked online on daily basis.
So far 200 devotees have performed special online pujas in Kedarnath Temple, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. Everyone had done online booking for the pujas. The first puja in Badrinath Dham was performed in the name of the Prime Minister on the occasion of opening of the kapat on 29 April. Rajkumar Nautiyal, an officer of the Chardham Devasthanam Board, said that the temple earned Rs 323820 from these pujas. It is said that the pujas are performed on the basis of the name and amount of the devotees.
On the other hand, Chardham Devasthanam Board Executive NP Jamaloki said that Kedarnath Dham has now one Rudramabhisheka, 24 Shodashopachara Puja, two Rudrabhishekas, 112 Nitya Niyam Bhoga Puja and Kapur Aarti and 12 Aarti.
