After the 2013 disaster, thousands of youths of the valley associated with Kedarnath Yatra were completely unemployed. In view of the circumstances at that time, the administration had taken all the arrangements related to travel. However, now the travel arrangements have come on track and about five lakh passengers have reached Kedarnath last year.
Now administration is ready to include local youth to come back and participate in Chardham Yatra from this year. Kedarnath yatra is being started from 29 April and 42 houses in Kedarnath is being alloted to priests. Local youths are being allowed to set up tents in Lincholi, Bheembali, Jungle Chatti, Kedarnath base camp and Kedarpuri.
Administration will charge INR 1500 per tent
Last month administration had invited tenders from local youth to set up tents on Kedarnath route. More than 100 applicants shown interests in the tender. Administration will charge monthly INR 1500 per tent from the owner.
DM Rudraprayag Mangesh Ghildiyal told that youth will get self employment from placing tents on Kedarnath route and pilgrims will get easy staying options in Kedarnath Yatra.
