On the day of opening of the Kadarnath 29th April, total 25073 pilgrims appeared in Kedarnath Dham. After this, due to snowfall on May 8, Kedarnath yatra was hindered. On this day, only 3085 pilgrims visit Kedarnath. But on 9 May, after the improvement in the weather, the yatra took the speed again. Despite the rain in the afternoon, the number of visitors is increasing every day in the last five days.
As per the data received from BKTC and District Disaster Control Room, on May 10, 11153 pilgrims visited Kedarnath, 11326 on May 11, on May 12, on 11632 and on May 12, 12102 pilgrims took Baba Kedar darshan. This is the first time in Kedarnath Yatra after the disaster, when more than 1.5 lakh devotees have reached Dham in 16 days.
In the Kedarnath Dham, there was no shortage of devotees in rain and snowfall. Covered with raincoats Lord Shiva devotees are waiting in a long queue. In the year 2017, the figure of 1.5 lakhs of devotees visited Kedarnath Dham in 29 days.
In the year 2014 after the disaster, only 48 thousand pilgrims appeared in Dham during the whole yatra season. Meanwhile, NP Jamloki, executive officer of the temple committee said that the temple is being opened at 4.30 am on behalf of the temple committee considering the enthusiasm of devotees.
