Bookings for the month of May and June have been received for the meditation cave in Kedarnath Yatra starting from 6th May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also done meditation in this cave built in 2018. GMVN will also operate two other caves built at Kedarnath during Kedarnath Yatra this year.
The meditation cave was constructed by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in 2018 near the Dugdh Ganga on the other side of the Mandakini river in Kedarnath Dham. This cave, built at a cost of about eight lakhs, is being operated by the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam during the travel period. This year, the corporation has started getting the booking of the meditation cave for Kedarnath Yatra starting from 6th May.
According to officials, bookings have been received from May 7 to 31, while most online bookings have been received for June. This time sadhaks will have to spend three thousand rupees including GST for doing meditation in the meditation cave. The GMVN team will visit Dham and take a terrestrial review of the base camp there. Along with this, the Dhyan cave and the other two caves will be inspected.
Regional Manager Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Sudarshan Singh Khatri said that the booking of Dhyan Cave for May and June in Kedarnath Yatra has been completed. Two more caves will also be operated in Kedarnath this year, for which the necessary arrangements will be completed by the end of this month. Soon the corporation’s team will reach Kedarnath Dham and start preparations.
Two other caves built on the side of Garudchatti in Kedarnath are also to be operated during this yatra. Electricity, water and toilet facilities will be provided here by the end of this month. Only after this the GMVN will fix the rates for here.
In the Kedarnath Yatra starting from May 6, arrangements for food and stay of the passengers, officials will be made by GMVN. Soon the corporation’s team will go to Dham and take a terrestrial review of the base camp and Swargarohini camp. Kedarnath meditation cave and other two caves will be inspected by the team, after which preparations will be started for the Yatra period.
Online booking has been completed till June. GMVN has doubled the fare of Dhyan Gufa this time. Earlier this fare was 15 hundred rupees, which has now become three thousand rupees.
