The centre of faith and devotion in Uttarakhand, pilgrimage abodes of Kedarnath, Gangotri & Yamunotri will be closed on 01 November, on the occasion of Bhaiya Dooj. Badrinath dham closing date will be decide on Vijayadashmi, whereas Hemkund Sahib and Lokpal Lakshman temple abodes will open till 15 October instead of 05 October due to huge rush of pilgrims.
As per tradition, the shrine of Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri is closed on the day of Bhaiyaduj, next day of Diwali. These shrines get closed for the winter and all shrines has winter seat at some lower altitude places. Pilgrims can visit these shrines at their winter seats in winter time.
