District Magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal said that the services of Idea and Vodafone have been started to improve communication services in Kedarnath, now pilgrims will be able to interact with their families. He said that Vodafone has been connected through the government’s local internet.
The purpose of this is that not all Pilgrims have the sim of BSNL, so they cannot communicate with their families during Kedarnath Yatra. Keeping this in view; the administration’s efforts are to ensure that more and more mobile network companies can start their services in Kedarnath. The administration is giving connections to these companies from their local network, for which the administration will charge the fees. These companies will also have the facility of 4G networks; internet and Pilgrims can also make video calls in Kedarnath during Yatra.
