Badrinath, Hemkund, Valley of Flowers and Auli received continuous heavy snowfall for the second day. Snowfall in the mountains peaks and heavy rainfall in the low lying areas have brought back the chills of winter season. The rainfall stopped late in the evening on Monday in low lying areas.
With the continuous heavy snowfall for more than 24 hours in Badrinath, Hemkund and Valley of Flowers have recorded 3 feet snowfall, Auli 1.5 feet, Gorson, Kunwaripas received 2 feet snowfall. While in Joshimath the frozen 3 inch snow has emerged out to be a great problem in collecting fodder for pastoral animals.
The two day snowfall has blocked the roads in Auli with broken canals and mud which is a nightmare for locals. SDM A.K Nautiyal reported the robotic lenovo machine has been sent at 11am on Monday to restore the blocked road. While the heavy snowfall turned out to be a bliss for the tourists from far off places. Shyam Kumar, a tourist from Delhi staying at GMVN Auli said he had specially come to Auli for learning fun skiing for which the two day snowfall turned icing on the cake for him.
