Bad weather may hinder the Char Dham Yatra once again. According to the Weather Bureaus forecast heavy rainfall may hit the nearby areas of Char Dham on 5th of July. It is predicted that few hilly areas and outer regions of the state may experience light to moderate rainfall.
UJVNL has also given a red alert. People are advised not to go near the rivers as the water level is estimated to rise. According to the officers, due to heavy rainfall the rivers are going to be overflooded. The project dams who come under this region will also be overflooded. Excess water can be released from the project dams to save the nearby areas from any disaster. Due to this the rivers may cross the danger level. Especially the water level of river Bhagirathi is predicted to cross the normal level for a few days starting from 05th of July.
