So far, due to the fact that the data of the green card was offline, drivers easily drove vehicles on Chardham route even after lapse of Green card date. But now when the data is online, he will not be able to do that. Also, the department will also be able to secure the data of green card holders.
According to RTO Sudhanshu Garg, till now 105 cards data has been uploaded on the software. Action will be taken against the driver and the vehicle owner if there is disturbance during checking.
What is Green Card for Chardham Yatra ?
Green Card is a type of certificate that the Transport Department issues commercial vehicles to Chhatham Yatra. For this, vehicles up to 13 seats have to pay 400 rupees and vehicles of more than 13 seats to 600 rupees. The validity of the green card is two months. Before issuing the card, departmental officers in RTO and ARTO offices check the condition of the car, RC, fitness, insurance, pollution test certificate, tax, driver’s DL, uniform etc.
6 More Checkpost on Chardham Roads
The Transport Department has about a dozen check posts in the state, this time the transport department has made six additional check posts at Kothal Gate, Tapovan, Damta, Bhadrakali, Sonprayag, Joshimath this time in Chardham Yatra. In each check post, four employees of the department will check the papers of trains.
200 Buses for Chardham Yatra
The Transport Department has asked about 100 buses from Uttarakhand transport corporation and 100 buses from the Kumaon Motor Owner Union for the Chardham Yatra. In the peak time of the journey, these bus will be put up on the Chhatham Yatra route.
