Char Dham Yatra which is scheduled to begin on April 21 owing to which maximum hotels have been booked to the capacity for the pilgrims visiting during that time.
GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam) has 17 guest houses on Gangotri Yamunotri route. Most of the GMVN guests houses have been booked in advance til June 2. The accommodation for “Running Tourist” is still in hope. On the other side, private hotels have also received advance booking till May this year. Where most of hotels in Uttarkashi, Barkot, Harsil, Baadiya, Dharali, Gangotri are already booked till May, on the other side several hotels on the route have also received advance booking.
After the disaster affected state tourism department which left the tourism business down for 2 consecutive years, with its revival now the tourism businessmen are planning to make the yatra for tourists easy and pocket friendly. Hoteliers have made no change in the rate of accommodation with respect to 2012, and are also planning to grant 10 – 15% discount to the tourists coming from abroad. Before this, the rates used to hike by Rs. 2 – Rs. 5 every year.

– Chinyalisaud, Uttarkashi, Maneri, Rathel, Barsu, Harsil, Lanka, Gangotri (2)
Yamunotri route
– Barkot, (3), Brahmakhal, Ginoti, Yamunotri, Phoolchatti, Sthanachatti.
In comparison to 2013 and 2014 the expectation is higher this year, mostly hotels have received booking till May, the pleasant weather may also accelerate the tourist inflow.
