In a major decision by government after blockage of Badrinath route near Vishnuprayag, a low cost helicopter service will be provided for pilgrims. The government cut down the fare prices for the tourists visiting Badrinath between Joshimath and Govindghat. From Govindghat, pilgrims will taken to Badrinath Dham by road free of cost. District administration has made 30-40 vehicles available for the task. The facilitity is provided till the reopening of the Vishnuprayag highway.
The Chief minister reached Joshimath helipad on Thursday afternoon and reached to Vishuprayag through helicopter to see the blockage Badrinath route. He announced number of concessions for the pilgrims visiting Badrinath. The helicopter fare is reduced to Rs 500 for women and senior citizens. For other pilgrims fare would be Rs 700. The arrangement will be applicable upto the reopening of the road route. Shortly helicopter flight from Joshimath to Badrinath will also be started soon.
