Chardham Yatra to remain closed till 30 June
According to Kedar Sabha President Vinod Shulka, now common devotees will not be able to visit Kedarnath Dham till June 30. Chamoli District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria said that no one will be allowed to visit Badrinath Dham till June 30. In the meeting held in the district auditorium, the hoteliers proposed to go to Badrinath for a day to clean the hotels and restaurants, on which the District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria has given them permission to go to Dham for a day.
All businessmen concerned need to get permission from Joshimath SDM. It was decided that the Singhdwar of Badrinath temple will not be opened till June 30 and no one will be allowed to visit the temple. However, the Puja-Archana will continue in the temple as before. Superintendent of Police Yashwant Singh Chauhan, Bharwan Chandra Uniyal of Badrinath, Pankaj Dimari, spokesperson of Dimri Panchayat, SDM Anil Chanyal etc. were present on the occasion.
Saints will be able to do penance
Sadhus and saints who have completed the quarantine period in Joshimath have been given conditional permission to do penance in Badrinath Dham. Dharmadhikari Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal told that saints will do penance in their hut in Badrinath Dham. No one will be allowed to visit Badrinath Dham till 30 June.
