After lifting the ban on behalf of the High Court, the state government started the pilgrimage to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham from September 18. In order to conduct the yatra as per the Covid rules and the guidelines of the court, the government has fixed the number of passengers visiting Chardham by issuing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
For darshan of Chardhams, it is mandatory for the travelers coming from the state and outside to register on the website of Devasthanam Management Board www.devasthanam.uk.gov.in. After which the e-pass is issued by the board. It came to the notice of the government that out of the registered pilgrims, only a small number of pilgrims are reaching for darshan every day.
On Saturday, Secretary Dharmaswa Harichandra Semwal has ordered the DMs of Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts to allow other registered pilgrims to visit Chardham in place of the registered pilgrims who are not reaching the Chardham on the due date.
