The gates of the Kedarnath temple included in the Char Dhams were to open for devotees on May 17, while those of Badrinath Dham were to open on May 18. At the same time, the temples of Gangotri and Yamunotri were to open on 14 May. Last year too, the Uttarakhand government had banned the Char Dham Yatra keeping in mind the corona epidemic. After this, the state government started the Char Dham Yatra for the devotees from July 1. In the last week of July 2020, the state government allowed devotees from other states to visit the Char Dham Yatra with certain conditions.
