Chardham to connect by rail network, complete yatra in 4 days

Sacred pilgrimage to Chardham will become easy in coming years. Instead of 10 days travel to Chardham, pilgrims will complete their Chardham Yatra in just 4 days. Central government is planning to join Chardham by rail network. Even initial survey work has been completed and submitted to the concern ministry.

The rail network to Chardham will be conected through extending railway line from Karnaprayag. The distance of Badrinath from Karnaprayag will be about 100 kms and further rail line will be constructed to Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Initial survey has estimated the total length of the rail track to be 640 kms. Second initial survey has been done on Dehradun-Vikasnagar-Yamunotri-Gangotri-Kedarnath-Badrinath route. Both the projects will surely help pilgrims to visit sacred sites.
