Chardham Yatra Preparation Depends on Lockdown
Due to lockdown in the country, all preparation for Chardham Yatra is on halt. All persons associated with opening of Chardham shrines are looking upon lockdown. If lockdown open on 15 April, then preparations would be started, otherwise it will affect Chardham preparations.
On 30 April, Badrinath shrine will be open and each year opening ceremony preparations starts before a month. Many person who were responsible for the painting work haven’t reach to Badrinath due to lockdown. Even Timundya Fair at Narsingh Temple of Joshimath which happen just a week before opening of Badrinath is also affected. When Chief Priest, Rawal of Badrinath reach Joshimath, Garud Chad Fair started. As per believe, God Garuda leaves for shrine that day and Badrinath yatra starts from same day.
But persons associated with Badrinath temple are in apprehension for the preparation if lockdown period extended. If lockdown open on 15 April, they will have only 15 days to make preparations. People of Chamoli Garhwal had been very much excited for yatra but due to Corona, this year no excitement is being seen on the faces of these local people.
