One of the famous four shrines Badri Dham opened its portals for thousands of pilgrims on April 26 morning. The portals were re-opened after a six-month winter break.
The high profile Ministers along with CM were present on the auspicious occasion and witnessed the ceremony as the doors opened at 5.15 am in Ravipushya yog.
The portals of three other shrines opened before Badrinath preceded by Gangotri & Yamunotri on April 21 on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya; while Kedarnath temple was opened on Friday, Apil 24.
The women belonging to Mana and Bamdi village performed traditional folk dance Dankudi and sang hymns on the occasion attended by CM Rawat and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Govind Gingh Kunjwal.
The famous industrialist Anil Ambani also reached Badrinath with his wife Tina Ambani and did darshan at around 2.30 in the after noon followed by Kedarnath.
The pilgrimage season of six months witnesses hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and tourists travelling to Dehradun, making it the economic backbone of Garwal region.
Chief Minister Harish Rawat has conducted an inspection of the routes and advised the officials to keep a close watch on the arrangements to ensure smooth functioning of the pilgrimage. He also made an appeal to the people to look forward and leave the memories of the calamity behind.
