Pilgrims will find easy access to Kedarnath Dham in coming yatra season. The bridge construction on Mandakini river between Sonprayag and Gaurikund will start in some days. For the bridge construction work, American Engineers will reach Sonprayag by Monday. As per hope, the bridge construction work will complete by month end.
Bridge Construction in Sonprayag
The estimate for the project of bridge construction is about 20 crores and given to US construction company Echro. The old bridge was swept away on 16 June during 2013 floods.
Till now a temporary folding bridge have been used for passing Char Dham pilgrims. Around 6 kms road also reconstructed between Sonprayag and Gaurikund. Only the bridge work remains for fully operational of Char Dham yatra. Basement for bridge construction is going to complete shortly by district disaster management authority. The parts for bridge construction has already reached at India from US through sea route. The bridge will be made by Steel garder and of size 60 metres length and 5 metres width.
