On Monday, Rawal Ishwari Prasad Namboodari, the chief priest of Badrinath, handed over the holy soil of Badrinath Temple and the water of Alaknanda to Devi Prasad, Laxman Farkia, Aditya Rawat, Satish Deoli and Vijendra. It will be used by Prime Minister Modi during the Bhoomi Poojan of Ram temple on 5 August.

Rawal first touched the soil and water from the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Badri Vishal and then brought it out of Singhdwar to Ayodhya in the Panchsila complex. The holy soil was taken from the foothills of the Narayan mountain behind Badrinath Dham, while the water of the same Alaknanda was sent to Ayodhya from which Lord Badri Vishal is anointed .
Head of the department of VHP, Deviprasad told that today water and soil are being taken from Badrinath. Night rest will be in Joshimath and then on Tuesday morning along with the team bringing mud and water from Kedarnath in Rudraprayag via Karnprayag, it will reach Tehri, where the team bringing water from Gangotri–Yamunotri will be met and on July 29, a team will leave with soil and water brought from all places to Ayodhya.
