Earlier Chardham Yatra had been halted due to Corona epidemic, but now it is going to resume from July 1. Ravinath Raman, CEO of Chardham Devasthanam Board, has issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in view of the Chardham Yatra.
He said that only the devotees of the state will be able to visit Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. During this time it will be necessary to follow the rules of prevention of Covid-19. People living in any containment and buffer zone will not be allowed to travel.
Before starting the journey one has to register online at Devasthanam Management Board, badrinath-kedarnath.gov.in. After this it will be mandatory to keep the e-pass and uploaded photo id and certificate of residence, only after which you will be allowed to enter the dham. Devotees will be allowed only for a night at the Chardham Yatra Hotels or any resting places enroute Chardham Yatra. At the same time, people who have symptoms of Corona virus will not be allowed to travel.
According to the directive of the Central Government, traveling above 65 years and below ten years of age is not allowed. Washing hands and feet will be mandatory before entering the temple. Also, bringing offerings and Prasads from outside the premises to the temple will be prohibited. Touching the idol is also prohibited.
