Tungnath Temple Closed for winters
The doors of the third Kedar Tungnath temple among the Panch Kedars have been closed for the winter season today. More than five hundred devotees witnessed this holy moment. During this time, the entire area echoed with the chants of Har Har Mahadev. After the doors were closed, the palanquin of Lord Tungnath has also left for the journey. On November 7, it will be seated in the winter seat Markandeshwar Temple in Makkumath village.
Utsav Doli of Lord Tungnath will reach its winter abode Makkumath on 07 November
The Chal Vigrah Utsav Doli of Lord Tungnath will reach Chopta as its first stop for night stay. On 5 Nov the Utsav Doli will reach its second stoppage Bhankun Gufa and remain there till 06 Nov. On 07 November the Chal Vigrah Utsav Doli of Lord Tungnath will reach its winter casket Markandeya Temple, Makkumath.
This year the number of visitors reached 1.75 lakh in the third Tungnath in Panch Kedar.
This year the doors of the third Kedar were opened on 10 May. Due to the crowd of devotees gathered in the Chardham Yatra, devotees continued to visit the third Kedar Tungnath during the entire season this year.
The number of passengers was very less during the rainy season. At the same time, in September and October, as soon as the yatra gained momentum, the number of visitors to the third Kedar also started increasing.
