For this, a four-member team that left for Kedarnath from Triyuginarayan has reached Triyuginarayan safely and has discovered a new alternative walking track of Triyuginarayan-Gumsuda-Garudachatti-Kedarnath (about 14 km). Which took about 6 hours to complete. Not only this but this walking route is of shortest distance.
After the disaster in Kedarnath Dham in Rudraprayag district in 2013, the Forest Department had started the effort to develop the Triyuginarayan-Vasukital-Kedarnath walking track, but this track is 20 kilometers away and is risky. Due to which there is a dire need for rock cutting on the walking track in the middle of Gum Suda Garuda Chatti.
If the Forest Department, with the initiative of the State Government, tries to develop a new alternative walking track by cutting the rock between Gumsuda – Garudachatti, then this walking track will be the shortest distance from Triyuginarayan to reach Kedarnath, which will facilitate the pilgrimage and tourism activities in Toshi village. Home stay scheme and local products will be promoted. According to the team, there are drains at many places on the walking track and most of the area is covered with beautiful velvety bushes. Along with developing the walking track, construction of a bridge on the Son river is also very important.
After the disaster of 2013, a trolley was constructed on the Son River by the Forest Department and Disaster Management, but due to lack of maintenance, this trolley has become dilapidated at present. Not only this, there are trees of many types of flowers and precious herbs including Jaya, Vijaya, Kukhni, Makhuni, Raton ki Rani, Garunpanja, Varun turmeric in an area of about five kilometers on the Garudachatti-Kedarnath walking track and from the Son river. Only seven kilometers of the journey till Gumsuda is uphill, the remaining walking track is flat and straight.
In fact, after the disaster of 2013, about 12 thousand pilgrims and businessmen had reached Triyuginarayan and Toshi through the forests from Kedarnath Garuda Chatti Ghinurpani and Rambada Yatra halts. This walking route was developed at a cost of crores but the walking track remained long and risky due to which 150 pilgrims reached Triyuginarayan and Toshi villages after the divine disaster at various stops of Kedarnath on 31 July 2024. Those who reached safe places from the forests were helped as much as possible by the villagers.
