Mangesh Ghildiyal, District Magistrate of Rudraprayag, said that its purpose is to take feedback on travel arrangements. Local weather updates can also be found from these nine centers. Connectivity was a major problem in the Kedarnath Dham, located at an altitude of eleven thousand feet above sea level.
Often, due to lack of network, devotees can not contact their families during yatra. Apart from this, the challenge of weather is always there. Especially after noon the climate changes in Kedarnath frequently. In view of this, free Wi-Fi facility has been started from Kedarnath Dham on Tuesday.
District Magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal said that on the travel route, facility of Wi-Fi will be available at Sonprayag, Gaurikund, Jungalchatti, Bhimbali, TS Chatti, Lincholi, Rudra Point, Biometric helipad and Kedarnath temple. Apart from this, special centers have been built in these places. All these centers have been linked to the District Disaster Management Center.
In these centers devotees will be able to get all the information related to the yatra, besides the weather updates. At seven o’clock in the evening, sector magistrate will report to district collector on a daily basis. The District Magistrate said that the sector magistrates have been given the responsibility to propagate these centers among the passengers.
Heli companies will also benefit from all nine centers including Kedarnath. After getting weather updates through these centers, heli companies will be able to schedule their flights. Companies have written a letter to the administration to give connection to this local network on each of the helipads.
