Huge destruction in Kedarnath Dham in 2013
In 2013, there was huge destruction in Kedarnath Dham due to natural disaster. In the first phase, widening of Kedar temple complex, 200 meters long walkway in front of the temple, construction of platform, 400 meters long Aastha Path on Mandakini river, Garuda Chatti to Kedarnath walkway, residence of pilgrimage priests, construction of ghat on Saraswati river and Flood protection works were carried out.
Work of the second phase being done at a cost of 120 crores
Whereas in the second phase, the process of doing museum, hospital, guest house, faith path in Mandakini river, queue management, seating arrangement for pilgrims, construction of rain shelter and other works is going on through the Ministry of Culture at a cost of 120 crores.
Corona stopped the enthusiasm of the devotees
The corona epidemic has stopped the enthusiasm of devotees coming to see Baba Kedar for two years. In view of the pandemic, this year also the Chardham Yatra has not started yet. Whereas these days there was a huge crowd of pilgrims in Kedarnath Dham.
Around 10 lakh pilgrims reached Kedarnath in 2019
After the disaster, the number of pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham was increasing every year due to the decoration of Kedar Dham. In the year 2019, about 10 lakh pilgrims reached Kedarnath. Whereas only 1.35 lakh devotees have come in the year 2020 due to the corona epidemic.
