In its report, Wildlife Institute of India stated that the ecosystem of Wildlife Century around Kedarnath is messy due to the continuous movement of helicopters. This is causing continuous noise pollution. Air pollution has increased due to the sound of the helicopter.
Due to the increase in air pollution, it has a direct effect on the environment. Ropeway can be used to prevent the use of helicopters and to carry pilgrims passengers to Kedarnath dham.
Using the ropeway, both sound and air pollution can be reinforced. During the hearing on the petition filed by an NGO in NGT, it was clear that the Wildlife Institute of India has already instructed the Uttarakhand government to shift Helipad Kedarnath Shrine, but after the NGT’s intervention, it is expected that soon Uttarakhand government will be able to convert helicopter services into ropeways.
