Now closing dates of all four sacred chardham have been declared. The closing of shrine will start from Gangotri on Oct 31. After then on Nov 1, Kedarnath and Yamunotri dham would be shut down. The Badrinath dham will close its doors for devotees on November 16.
The Badri-Kedar Samiti official told that Kedarnath portals will be closed by 08:00 am on 01 November. The diety of Kedarnath dham will be carried in a palanquin to Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath. The procession will halt at Rampur in daytime and Guptkashi at night time. Next day the idol will be set up in its winter abode.
The Badrinath dham will be closed on 16 November and last Puja will be performed at 03:45 pm. The winter abode of Lord Badrinath is at Narsingh Temple in Joshimath. The winter abode of Yamunotri is Kharsali and of Gangotri at Mukhba.
