On the ocasion of Maha Shivaratri, the priest of Kedarnath temple Bhimashankar and the guru of vidhyapeeth Acharya Yogdhar Maithani had started the puja at Omkareshwar, Ukhimath and then calculate the dates according to the Hindu Panchang. They decided 9th May as a date for reopen the shrine doors. On the ocasion of Akshay Tritiya, the high altitude shrine will be reopened with a grand puja.
The Sacred Portal will reopen at 7 am
On the same day the portals will be reopen at 7am in the morning, before it the priest and other committee member will worship of Lord Shiva and Bairavnath. According to the priest, the Doli of Kedarnath will start yatra on 5th may from Ukhimath, then they will take rest at Guptkashi, Pravas fata & Gaurikund as well. On 8th may Doli will reach at Kedarnath.
Priest choosen for Kedarnath Puja
BKTC has choosed priest for Kedarnath and all other shrines. In Kedarnath, Shivshankar Ling, Madhmaheshwar Dham T. Gangadhar Ling, Omkareshwar temple Bagesh Ling and at Vishvnath temple Shashidhar Ling will be the prist.
