Disturbed weather hindered the advancement of Kedarnath pilgrims

The Kedarnath yatra was unable to resume on the third day because of the prediction made by the Weather Bureau and the walkway which has been obstructed at Junglechatti. The pilgrimage was unlikely to resume on Tuesday due to which the pilgrims had to stay at Sonprayag. While the Badrinath and Hemkund yatra was continuing on Wednesday. Clouds may be noticed at some places but there are no chances of rainfall. On Tuesday rainfall did not occured in Badrinath and Hemkund. At 9 a.m. on Wednesday 163 pilgrims proceeded for Hemkund Saheb from Govindghat to Ghangaria. With this 254 pilgrims reached Badrinath shrine.

On Tuesday at sharp 4 a.m in Kedarnath and Kedarnath valley dense fog and drizzle impeded the pedestrian walkway. At 6 O clock in the morning at Sonprayag, few pilgrims reached the barrier but due to disturbed weather the administration did not gave the permission to make further advancement. After waiting till 10 O clock in the morning the weather did not opened up. Therefore, the pilgrims went back to their places.

The trek is shrouded in silence

The markets of Gaurikund are shrouded in silence as the walkabout has been closed. Apart from administartion, police and SDRF personnels nobody can be seen at Junglechatti, Bheembatti and Lencholi. Food and other basic necessities are being carried on the back of horses and mules to send at various legs of pilgrimage and at Kedarnath shrine through Gaurikund trek.

Rocks are falling at Junglechatti

At Junglechatti rocks are falling from the terrains. A big portion of a mountainous terrain fell at Junglechatti due to which a bridge broke down. Many big rocks fell on Police Station and JMVM huts. At Junglechatti 10 personnels of GMVN, 05 policemen and 03 adminstartive personnels including Secretariat Magistrate were present on duty. Whereas one shopkeeper was also there.

Helicopter started its flight from Guptkashi to Kedarnath

On Tuesday the weather was changing frequently in middle of this the helicopter started its flight from Guptkashi to Kedarnath. 101 pilgrims reached Kedarnath by two helicopters of Pinnacle and Summit Aviation Company, from which 53 pilgrims came back. Others stood back due to bad weather. After the doors of Kedarnath temple opened about 112997 devotees came to visit the shrine.
