The state government has put a ban on polythene on Kedarnath Dham travel route completely. Under the initiative GMVN installed food stalls will also avail eco carry bags to the travellers at reasonable prices. The DM has directed the concerned authorities for the purpose.
On the instructions of the government DM. Dr Raghav Langhar completely banned polythene on Kedarnath Dham travel routes. For the convenience of passengers, administration will make eco-carry bags available at several GMVN refreshment points located at Sonprayag, Gaurikund including Bimbli, Lincholi and Kedarnath which will be sold at mere five bucks. Till date, there had been extensive use of polythene bags even on the temporary stores located on pedestrian way. Which was removed in large amount after the 2013 calamity. District Panchayat was given the responsibility for it, which helped in the removal of polythene to a great extent.
Annapurna portals to be thrown open on May 5
The valves of Annapurna temple situated in Dodital will be opened on May 5. The discussion was held in a meeting organized in Agoda of Kelsu regarding opening of the portals. The people of Kelsu from Agoda will leave for Dodital with the palanquin on May 5. The doors of the Godess Annapurna Temple will be thrown open to the pilgrims on May 5 at 9 am early in the morning. However, Dodital is situated 15 km walk away from the main road. Dodital Tourism Festival Committee Chairman Kamal Singh Rawat said on fifth of May Dhasda Sarpnath God, Seku Virbhadra Devta, Agodha’s Narayan Devta, the palanquin of Nag Devta Sanidhy valve will be opened.
