Live Broadcast of Chardham Temples except Garbgrih
During the discussion on the proposal of live broadcast of worship from the Char Dhams in the board meeting, the priests rejected it outright. He said that live broadcast of worship from the sanctum sanctorum of temples would be against religious traditions. However, live broadcasts can take place from the temple premises. After deliberation, it was decided that live telecast of worship would not be done from the sanctum sanctorum of the Chardham temples.
Old Traditions Continue under Devasthanam Board
There was also a discussion in the meeting regarding the voices of protest being raised regarding the Devasthanam Board. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made it clear that the old traditions would continue in the Chardham temples. The task of the government is not to control the internal arrangements of the temple, but to serve and cooperate. The government aims to be a partner in the development of the facilities of the temple complexes. He expected all the members to be informed about this.
Budget for Chardham in 2021-22
The Chief Minister said that in view of the non-operation of Chardham Yatra, if needed, additional financial assistance would be considered for the Board. For this, he directed the officers to send a revised proposal. In the meeting, Divisional Commissioner and CEO of Devasthanam Board, Ravinath Raman proposed the budget for the year 2021-22. He informed that a budget of 24.46 crores is proposed for Badrinath, 29.22 crores for Kedarnath and 50-50 lakhs for Gangotri and Yamunotri. After discussion it was approved.
Ved Study Center in Joshimath
In the meeting, it was agreed to establish a center for study of Vedas on the study land of Shri Badrinath Veda Vedang Post Graduate Sanskrit College in Joshimath, to select INI Design Studio Gujarat as consultant for the construction of infrastructure as per the master plan in Kedarnath Dham. .
