From 06:00 am on Friday, priests performed the Athul Puja of the third Kedar Lord Tungnath at the Markandeya Temple Makkumath, the winter abode. From 7 to 9 am, prayers were offered in Mahayagya for the efficiency of travel and for the welfare of the world. After this, the people of Hoodu and Akhodi villages decorated the Vigraha Doli.
On this occasion, aarti of bhog idols were performed after performing the processions of consecration and donation etc. with special 16 pujas by the hands of Mathadhipati Ram Prasad Maithani. After this, the idols of the Lord Tungnath were seated in the Utsav Vigraha Doli. At 10 am, Lord Tungnath departed for the Tungnath ham after the circumambulation of the winter abode of Makardeya temple. Baba Tungnath’s Doli tradition reached Pokhani Tok at 11 am. Where a bhog made of new grains collected from all the families was offered to Baba Tungnath. After resting here, Doli reached Bhootnath Temple for a night stay. On Saturday, Lord Tungnath will rest in the Bhootnath temple itself. While on 16 May, Doli will arrive at Chopta for a night stay, departing from Bhoothnath temple. And on May 17 at 12 noon, the doors of the third Kedar Tungnath Dham will be opened.
