As the new strain of Covid spreading rapidly in the country, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has requested the tourists, devotees and sages visiting the Chardham Yatra to use mask, sanitizer and maintain social distance and follow the Covid guidelines. In addition, he said that one out of three tests namely Nuclein Acid Amplification Testing (CBNAAT), TV Diagnosis Test True Net (TRUNET) and Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) test is compulsory for those coming from other states.
Welcoming the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep the Kumbh symbolic in the wake of the Corona crisis, Maharaj urged travelers, sages and tourists from other states on Haridwar Mahakumbh and Chardham Yatra to follow the Covid rules. Maharaj said that we heartily welcome those sages who want to carry out the entire tradition of Kumbh.
Maharaj said that pilgrims coming on Chardham Yatra will be registered online and permission will be given after all types of verification and checks. He said that after talking to the Rawals, a full review of the Chardham Yatra has been done. Further, under the leadership of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, we will review it from time to time, so that the doors of the temples can be opened in a timely manner and the devotees can also avail the darshan according as per tradition.
