Water ATM in Kedarnath Dham : Pilgrims will no longer have to buy drinking water

Pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham will now get pure water free of cost from water ATM. Now pilgrims need not to buy high cost bottled water at Kedarnath Dham. The administration will install two Water ATMs near the Kedarnath Temple and Saraswati river under the Community Social Responsibility Fund of Oil Natural Gas Corporation and National Thermal Power Corporation.

Water ATMs will have seating facility

Executive Engineer DDMA Praveen Karnwal said that with the personal efforts and interest of the District Magistrate, two water ATMs are being set up from the CSR fund of Maharatna companies near Kedarnath Temple and Saraswati river. There will also be a seating arrangement in the room where the water ATM will be built.

85 lakh rupees will be spent on Water ATMs

It is being told that water ATMs machines are being installed with 500 liters of purification capacity i.e. 12 thousand liters capacity in a day. It will cost about 85 lakh rupees. Water ATM is a community reverse osmosis (RO), which will allow 15 people to drink free water from one water ATM at a time.
