Hotel & Shop owners very excited about Chardham Yatra
The Chardham Yatra will begin on May 3 with the opening of the doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham. The doors of Kedarnath are to be opened on May 6 and that of Badrinath on May 8. Hotel and tourism businessmen are very excited about the Chardham Yatra this time after the Covid-19 ban is lifted.
Rajesh Mehta, president of Badrinath Hotel Association, says that more than 40 percent of the hotels in Badrinath Dham have been booked till June 10.
Bookings are being done till the end of June in other hotels. Travel companies are unable to provide sufficient rooms for advance booking in Badrinath Dham. So, to solve this, big travel companies are now booking hotels in advance at Joshimath and other parts of the Chardham.
Advance booking has been done in hotels at other places including Joshimath, Pandukeshwar, Pipalkoti, Birhi Kshetrapal, at the major stops of the Chardham Yatra route. District Tourism Officer Sobat Singh Rana said that Badrinath Dham has arrangements for accommodation of more than 15 thousand pilgrims. Apart from this, Dharamshalas are also available. Advance booking has been done till June 25
In Kedarnath Dham, 50 percent of the hotels located at Gaurikund, Sonprayag, Guptkashi, Phata, Tilwara, Agastmayuni, Rudraprayag etc. have been booked till June 25. Hotel Association President Prem Goswami said that pilgrims and travel agents from different states are constantly contacting for booking.
