The survey to construct the tunnel has been in the completion phase. After which the report will be sent to Central Govt. The tunnel will join Rishikesh-Badrinath and Rudraprayag–Gaurikund highway. The tunnel will start from Jawadi bridge in Rudraprayag and ends at Rudraprayag-Chopta-Pokhri road. After then by constructing a bridge on Alaknanda river, the tunnel will connect to Badrinath highway.
