As much as 2000 pilgrims thronged in the Gangotri temple on the first day of portal opening. Gangotri is one of the famous dham among char dhams which is now open to the devotees for next six months. People of Mukhba sent their daughter with a grand celebration to Gangotri where it will be kept for coming six months wich is done according to the tradition. After which the priests and other people left for Mukhba. It was a merry making as well as emotional moment for the people of Mukhba.
The portals were opened with the lauds of godess Ganga yesterday on the occassion of Akshaya Tritiya. Large number of people were presnent on the ceremony of Ganga’s first darshan. Ganga was then placed in the temple after the havan and poojas by the priests.
Biometric registration compulsory for Kedarnath Yatra
CM Rawat said the government is going to act strict with the registration process for yatra. The biometric registration is made compulsory for Kedarnath yatra. However, emphasis is not not given much for Gangotri, Yamunotri and Badrinath. About 1500 people got their photometric registration done for Gangotri-Yamunotri.
