The Free Chardham travel project for senior citizens ‘Mere Bujurg Mere Teerth’ yojna has started again for this year. There was the target of 4225 senior citizens for 2015 yatra season but only 824 had been taken use of the project. This year again the project has taken the target of 4225 senior citizen for Mere Bujurg Mere Teerth.
To complete the target this year, a dedicated target has been given to every block. As soon as number of pilgrims registration reach to fill the bus completely, the bus will start from same block. Previously the bus had to start from Dehradun’s tourism department.
For the present year, first bus will be for Reetha Sahib as there are enough numbers of pilgrims for the tour. For the Gangotri and Badrinath, the applications has been coming from various places. But none of the applications come from Nizamuddin Dargah, Delhi.
What is Mere Bujurg Mere Teerth Yojna ?
The Uttarakhand Tourism Department is providing free tour for senior citizens to Chardham except Kedarnath and other holy places. These places are Gangotri, Badrinath, Reetha Sahib and Nizamuddin Dargah.
Applications for Mere Bujurg Mere Teerth yojna is available at tourism department office and tehsils offices. One can take application from these offices on any day of the week including sundays.
