Chief Minister Mr. Harish Rawat is taking keen interest in the proceedings of Char Dham Yatra. He said that different departments of the Garhwal Commission should be assigned various powers and authorities in order to maintain healthy relationship. Security troops should be appointed on the delicate areas where the bridges have been built. The Chief Minister has appointed 04 SDM officers at Govind Ghat and other fragile areas of the Char Dham Yatra. He said it will be ensured that the officers will be present 24*7 at the reporting places.
On Tuesday while taking a bureau of the restoration work done in the destructive places of Bijapur, Chief Minister said heavy rainfall has taken a test of the spade work in which we have suceeded. He told the Senior Administrative Officials to be in touch with the tourists and give their feedback. He stated SDM will be appointed at Govindghat and Tehsildaar at Ghangoria for three months. Similarly, Sonprayag-Kedarnath, Govindghat-Hemkund and Joshimath-Badrinath should be kept at high surveillance by appointing DSP officials during pilgrimage. Hoardings will be put up on different routes which will tell about the climatic conditions and the roads.
Chief Minister said debris have been accumulated in the rivers because of it the river banks have became shallow. As a consequent of the debris the rivers are changing their direction. Therefore, debris should be removed from the river bodies. Chief Minister has given orders to take effective steps to control the floods at Govindghat, Ghangoria and Darma Valley. DCSPT management should be done at Ghangoria Hellipad. It has been discussed in the meeting on Wednesday the pilgrimage on foot from Sonprayag to Kedarnath will begin. The number of SDRF and policemen have been increased. Fifteen trollies will be set up near the fragile bridges. The yatra routes have been opened. Due to rainfall some of the closed routes are being opened alternatively between 02 or 03 hours. For this JCB machines nad other equipments are being used. Badrinath and Govindghat has the capicity to hold 04 helicopters each.
